3 Tips for Glowing Wedding Skin

Wedding season is upon us. Day-of makeup is likely on your checklist, but is glowing skin? Your skin’s overall appearance won’t change overnight, so it’s best to start a good routine months in advance. If you’re currently planning for your wedding, or waiting for your special day after postponing your 2020 nuptials, these wedding skincare tips are for you!

First, evaluate your current skincare routine.

Is it working for you? Do you have concerns about your skin you’d like to address? Three to six+ months before your wedding is a perfect time to see an esthetician to get started addressing your concerns. This ensures that you’ll have glowing skin by your special day. Your esthetician should do a skin analysis (look over your skin under a mag lamp to see any areas of concern). Then, talk to you about your current skincare routine and recommend a treatment plan & home wedding skincare plan.

Second, get started on a good home care routine.

What you’re doing to your skin at home is 80% of the success you obtain. Skincare treatments make up 20%. Remember, skincare is not one-size-fits-all. Don’t just copy the routine your friend/favorite influencer/beloved celebrity is doing. I wish I could give you the magic formula here. But, I would need to first evaluate your skin, routine and lifestyle to suggest the best products for you. Feel free to fill out my contact form, visit me at Savage Lifespa or DM me on Instagram to inquire about products!

Finally, get some deep treatments set up with your esthetician for optimal wedding skincare.

Some treatments I recommend include:

  • Custom facial – This should provide a thorough skin analysis and facial massage, which can help lift and tone the skin (for a period of time)
  • Hydrafacial – This medical grade machine can provide an intense treatment with virtually no downtime and glowing skin very shortly after treatment.
  • Dermaplaning – This can be added to a custom facial as the exfoliation. This uses a scalpel (doesn’t hurt at all) to remove dead skin and vellus hair, ensuring your makeup goes on like butter.

I recommend you try the service well before your special day, to ensure your face reacts well. Then, again the week of (if everything went smoothly). Wedding skincare doesn’t have to be hard, and us esthetician’s are here to help make it even easier.
